The dialysis treatment seems to be doing well and may be a huge variable in his recovery. His levels are stabilizing and he will be monitored at a minimum until tomorrow before the decisions made to return him to the VA. They were able to remove the paralysis and Nitric gas completely due to his progression.

Due to the time frame of his care under the ventilator and rate of recovery options for care a limited. Today he will start a therapy called Convalescent Plasma Transfer. This procedure is an effort to give dad the antibodies from those who have recovered from the illness to expedite his recovery. There has been great outcomes with this treatment. Based off the history of his conditions we want to maximize dads chances to recover. Hopefully the dialysis was the kick start he needed and the new therapy tops it off.

Till next time...

Dads condition has gotten better where he is not looking like a good candidate to undergo the ECMO therapy anymore. They believe the intermittent kidney dialysis may work and collateral a positive effect to his lungs to properly heal. Initially I was informed continuous dialysis but it is only intermittent, which is a GOOD thing! Dependent on his progression he may be sent back to VA. Time will tell.

Spoke with staff in the middle of the night. L results and current levels require dad to undergo continuous Kidney dialysis.

Till next time...
