Update #47

Dad is continuing his progress well. He is working diligently with the occupational therapist, speech pathologist and Physical therapy. Dad has started with small doses of puréed food. His is moving along well and is feeling stronger day by day. He is working hard everyday and wants to be better! He is motivated and moving the right direction. he gaining more functionality with his limbs and has stood up several time with and without assistance. He still does not have his voice back yet and struggles with his phone. Overall, he is making leaps forward and is just a matter of time.

Update #46

We visited dad again through his window. Facilities still have restrictions on inside visitors with the pandemic Still going.

Dad was clearly happy to have visitors. He has his phone and may be reaching out to friends and family. Please allow him to reach out to you First. Dad is excited to be in control of some communications and wants to reach out. Do not reach out to him and accidentally obligate him to want to reply. Dad is still very weak and does not have full function of his arms and fingers. His dexterity is improving and strength needs to be rebuilt. I had to call a nurse at the front desk to help him with his phone due to his challenges. please respect dads slow progression. Just a heads up for all so you are not surprised if he dials or texts you. Take advantage of his brief moments being able to reach out to you and be cognizant of your responses. Remember dad is very limited on his overall mobility. it hurt me to see his frustration when he had troubles answering the phone so I can chat with him through the window.

Monday we will find out much more from the specialized staff that will be able to fully evaluate his current abilities. Time and Support is the bear medicine at this point.

Update #45

What a day to praise!

Dad was released from the hospital today!!

He has made it safe to his rehabilitation journey and is Already watching one his favorite shows “Judge Judy”. Dad will rest and be attended to throughout the weekend and continue his therapy Monday.

Thank you to all the staff, friends, and family that showed to support dad in his next journey. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to spread love through such hard times the 2020 has given us.
