Dad developed a fever over night. His temperature reached a 102.6 and needed to be heavily sedated for remedial action. With this action his oxygen level from the ventilator went from 50% to 100%. So now the machine is officially doing all the work for him. With the ventilator system levels increased the heavy sedation is needed To control his breathing. The temperature was not high enough to treat but definitely a cause for concern That needed direct symptom treatment. They believe he has pneumonia in his lungs and is currently under heavy antibiotics to prevent damage to his lungs which appears to be helping. The bigger and uncontrolled breaths he takes alone risk damage to his lungs hence the increase in treatment for the ventilator and additional antibiotic. Due to dads previous medical challenges the virus makes his body much more vulnerable to other bacteria‘s. He is at a higher risk to other illnesses due to COVID-19. He has returned to a stable position currently And has been moved to his stomach to assist their efforts of coping his bodies workload. This has shown to improve his breathing regulation before the ventilator. He is still in the fight and hope the previous conditions were just the calm before the storm and that it doesn’t get any worse.

Till next time...
