Well.... it has been a rollercoaster today. Dads condition has dropped. His levels are not where they are suppose to be. Dad has been struggling a lot the past two days. He has been transported to University Hospital where they can offer more. Dads lungs are virtually the same but they want to make progress and believe this move will best fit him. He is not getting the oxygen he needs through his lungs and has been deemed a good candidate for ECMO Therapy that will aid in getting oxygen to him through his blood. Since his arrival to University his levels stabilized with a new gas to assist. They are prepared to start ECMO and he is in the right place for this treatment.

I also spoke with a new doctor assigned who is a Kidney Specialist. Dads levels for his Kidney are not well and have been getting worst. They are preparing for dialysis on his kidneys and will advise. Staff is working diligently to look for progress with his current conditions.

Thoughts and prayers. Till next time...

Dad developed a fever over night. His temperature reached a 102.6 and needed to be heavily sedated for remedial action. With this action his oxygen level from the ventilator went from 50% to 100%. So now the machine is officially doing all the work for him. With the ventilator system levels increased the heavy sedation is needed To control his breathing. The temperature was not high enough to treat but definitely a cause for concern That needed direct symptom treatment. They believe he has pneumonia in his lungs and is currently under heavy antibiotics to prevent damage to his lungs which appears to be helping. The bigger and uncontrolled breaths he takes alone risk damage to his lungs hence the increase in treatment for the ventilator and additional antibiotic. Due to dads previous medical challenges the virus makes his body much more vulnerable to other bacteria‘s. He is at a higher risk to other illnesses due to COVID-19. He has returned to a stable position currently And has been moved to his stomach to assist their efforts of coping his bodies workload. This has shown to improve his breathing regulation before the ventilator. He is still in the fight and hope the previous conditions were just the calm before the storm and that it doesn’t get any worse.

Till next time...

Still stable and pushing forward. Dad had a little trouble breathing a little and was trying to breath on his own. Theu even trialed him breathing on his own for a lil and see he still needs the machine longer. All is well and looking better but creates a few obstacles when the ventilator is timed and completely controlling over the in/outputs. All levels are good and still remain the same with slight levels of progression. Dad will in fact let us know when I’m he is ready but the long haul still awaits. The fight continues.

Till next time...
